The second step in developing your handstand walking skills is developing the ability to 'kick up' to a handstand!

1. The Kick Up with the momentum to get upside down in a handstand against a wall (or not against a wall once you have plenty of practice). You can start small with small kick ups - not all the way up to a handstand - and develop your strength, coordination, and courage, to be able to kick all the way up to a handstand.

2. The Kick Up gives you a safe way to get up to a handstand for much longer holds against the wall - with an easy escape strategy, you simply kick down.

3. The Kick Up is key when you start walking on your hands as it provides your initial forward momentum to start walking.
